Perception can really alter reality. And that’s what we have here folks!
The power of the New York Knicks and their fanbase should never be underestimated ever again. For the last two weeks, all we have heard was the debate on whether or not the Knicks could beat the Celtics.
Shaq and Charles Barkley said the Knicks are overrated and are going to get destroyed by the Celtics. Draymond Green wouldn’t shut up about how coach Tom Thibodeau used all the Knicks energy and that they would fall to the Celtics. Every talking head on the planet told you how the Knicks could not sustain this success against the Celtics.
But then the Knicks weren’t playing the Celtics.
Apparently, no one cared that the Knicks were playing a pretty good team in the Indiana Pacers. A team that I told you to bet to beat the Knicks in the series, by the way, just sayin’.
So what are all those talking heads saying about the Indiana Pacers versus Boston Celtics series?
Nothing, they’re still too busy talking about the Knicks.
The few that have spoken up about this series have already anointed the Celtics the winners. But I’m here to tell you a different story.
Now look, I’m not going to tell you that the Indiana Pacers are going to win this series. But I will tell you that they have a chance.
These teams met five times in the regular season. The Celtics won three and the Pacers won two. And with series odds of +700 (risking $100 nets you $700) the risk is well worth the reward.
Each of the five times these teams met, the Boston Celtics were perfectly healthy aside from one game in which Porzingis DNP. Indiana was not a full roster when they met. In fact, the Pacers rolled out either Buddy Hield or Bruce Brown, and in same cases both, in the starting lineup.
Neither Hield nor Brown is even on the team let alone in the starting lineup now.
Okay, so bet the Pacers in the series at +700 before the series starts? Not quite.
The Pacers have a chance to win the series, but if you want better odds just wait. The Pacers are expected to lose game one; they are a 10 point underdog tonight. The Celtics are expected to roll; and they have in game 1’s this year, winning by 20 and 25. But they have lost both game 2’s at home by 10 and 24.
It’s not quite a trend, but it does tell you the Celtics are not invincible at home. Jason Tatum even told you that…
This team is not invincible. There is no Michael Jordan on this team. There is no Kobe Bryant on this team. There is no great player on this team. There are a bunch of very good players on this team.
Here’s the problem. I’m not risking $900 to win $100 on a collection of very good players that haven’t won shit! But I will take that +700, or more if you wait until AFTER game 1, on a young up tempo team with absolutely nothing to lose.
I could do without all the whining from Pacers coach Rick Carlisle, but that’s a diatribe meant for another day.
So, here’s my advice… If you want to get the most value out of you money, do these two things. Bet the Pacers AFTER game 1 to win the series, the price will be phenomenal. And take the over tonight at 221.
Me? I will most likely be betting the over in every single game of this series until someone takes their head out of their ass and ticks this total to 230, because 221 is a joke. These two teams are 8-2 to a 221 number in the last 10 games. They’re 4-1 to that number this regular season against each other, and the 1 time to the under was 219 points.
Pacers vs Celtics Over 221 tonight…
Pacers series winners after (an assumed loss) tonight…
Play well and bet responsibly. Ain’t nobody got time to be pulling an Antonio Brown right now…
